The process of obtaining the "kairylman" status takes up to two months from the moment the application is submitted to the Ministry. In 2025, 935 ethnic Kyrgyz received this status, among them:
- 66 people from the Republic of Uzbekistan;
- 837 people from the Republic of Tajikistan;
- 12 people from the People's Republic of China;
- 9 people from the Russian Federation;
- 10 people from Afghanistan;
- 1 person from other countries.
In January 2026, 132 people were also recognized as kairylmans. According to current legislation, kairylmans have access to social guarantees and benefits that are practically equivalent to those provided to citizens of Kyrgyzstan.
Holders of the kairylman status are entitled to social benefits, pensions, medical care, education, and employment in Kyrgyzstan. Among the kairylmans:
- 13 people receive social benefits;
- 19 people receive pensions;
- 5 people receive land plots;
- 263 people use medical services;
- 373 people are studying in general education schools;
- 63 students are studying in higher educational institutions;
- 30 people applied for employment, of which 11 found jobs.
Kairylmans are issued a certificate valid for three years, during which they are required to apply for citizenship of the Kyrgyz Republic.
