The girl who became the victim of the wolf was on her way to school when the tragedy occurred. According to a local source, she could not survive after the attack. Regional authorities reported that the head of the region has instructed to organize adult supervision for students in mountainous areas. Residents have also been advised to immediately report any sightings of wolves near populated areas.
This is not the first attack by wolves on people in the Gorno-Badakhshan region. Previously, in Shugnan, wolves also attacked local residents, including both children and adults. Fortunately, at that time, the victims were able to receive timely assistance and survived.
