The main goal of the document is to ensure free and unrestricted access to data about registered entities in the EAEU countries:
- trademarks,
- service marks,
- geographical indications,
- designations of origin of goods.
According to the draft agreement:
- The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) will create and maintain the operation of the search service, which will be hosted on the EAEU information portal;
- This service will allow for a unified search of industrial property objects protected in all member states of the Union;
- Information will be regularly updated through the integrated information system of the EAEU;
- Access to search and obtain information will be free and publicly available;
- Search results will be generated automatically based on user queries.
The EAEU member states commit to:
- ensure the completeness, accuracy, and relevance of the provided data;
- transmit information in accordance with the unified directories and classifiers of the Union.
- The Eurasian Economic Commission will be responsible for:
- the preservation of information,
- the creation of a common information resource,
- preventing distortion of transmitted data.
The technical requirements and the service operation regulations will be approved by the EEC Board within three months after the agreement comes into force.
The First Deputy Prime Minister has been authorized to sign the agreement on behalf of Kyrgyzstan with the right to make minor amendments.
This agreement will come into force after all EAEU member states complete their internal procedures and send notifications to the depositary — the Eurasian Economic Commission.
