Bishkek provides 65% of the country's tax revenues – Kasymaliev

The meeting of the city hall board took place in Bishkek, where the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and the Head of the Presidential Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic, Adylbek Kasymaliev, summarized the municipality's work for 2025 and discussed plans for 2026.

In his speech, Kasymaliev highlighted significant achievements in the socio-economic sphere, noting that over the past five years, the consolidated budget of the country has increased fivefold, reaching a record value of over 1 trillion soms. This creates additional opportunities for the modernization of the country.
The head of the cabinet emphasized that Bishkek is not only the capital but also a key financial center that makes a substantial contribution to the state budget. Of the 304 billion soms collected by the State Tax Service, 198.7 billion soms came from the capital, which accounts for about 65%. Kasymaliev expressed gratitude to all taxpayers working and living in Bishkek and urged law enforcement and fiscal authorities to stop baseless business inspections, emphasizing that this issue is under his control.

He also noted that the city's budget in 2021 amounted to 10.7 billion soms, and over four years it has increased by more than 20 billion soms. In 2024, actual revenues amounted to 37 billion soms, while in 2025 they were 30.6 billion soms.

Kasymaliev added that from 1970 to 1990, Bishkek underwent significant architectural transformations, and today construction continues with similar intensity.
“Our capital is actively being updated. The project 'Yntymak Ordo' has become a bright symbol of both the city and the new Kyrgyzstan. The small arena of the stadium is being renovated, and road repairs are underway both within the capital and beyond – over the past five years, 218.1 km of roads have been built. Aitmatov Avenue demonstrates that the quality of roads in the city is beginning to meet the highest standards. New parks are being opened, existing ones are being reconstructed, and comfortable conditions for the recreation of citizens are being created. The riverbeds of Ala-Archa and Alamedin have also been cleaned, and the embankment of the Big Chui Canal near the 'Alga' stadium has been improved. These works need to continue,” he noted.
Additionally, Kasymaliev reported that this year, 32 new schools will be built in Bishkek.

Since 2022, 30 new schools have been opened, major repairs have been carried out in 40 educational institutions, and this year, two schools that were in emergency condition will be put into operation. The construction of new educational institutions and additional buildings will continue. Bishkek has also opened 143 home-type kindergartens.

Kasymaliev also addressed issues of the municipality's technical equipment. The city hall received 95 buses and 42 units of special equipment. Since 2021, 1,493 gas and electric buses have been purchased for the city. Over the past two years, utility services have received 446 units of new equipment.

“We also note the launch of a modern plant for the disposal of solid household waste, which is capable of processing up to 1,000 tons of waste per day and producing 30 MW of electricity per year. This plant is a step forward in the ecological progress of our capital. In the next five years, Bishkek expects the implementation of other infrastructure projects,” he added.

A number of instructions were given at the meeting of the city hall board.
