The Osh region is conducting quarantine phytosanitary control over the imported planting material, carried out by the local office of the Department of Chemicalization, Protection, and Quarantine of Plants. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, the control takes place in two stages.
The first stage of control occurs at the quarantine phytosanitary post "Dostuk," located at the Kyrgyz-Uzbek border. During this stage, a thorough check of all accompanying documents is conducted, including the phytosanitary certificate, permits, and waybills.
At the second stage, control continues at the customs clearance point "Mega Logistic," where samples are taken for laboratory research. The samples are sent to the Osh quarantine phytosanitary laboratory, and only after receiving negative results from the laboratory examination is a phytosanitary document issued, allowing the import of planting material into the Kyrgyz Republic. Additional disinfection measures are also carried out.
When importing planting material into the Osh region, it is necessary to comply with a number of mandatory requirements:
- the presence of a special permit from the Department of Agricultural Crop Expertise;
- a phytosanitary certificate from the authorized body of the exporting country;
- accompanying documents confirming phytosanitary safety;
- an invoice;
- shipping documents.
The Osh office of the Department of Chemicalization, Protection, and Quarantine of Plants emphasizes that strict adherence to phytosanitary norms is a crucial condition for protecting the country's agriculture and preventing the import of quarantine pests.
