The Eurasia Week took place in Paris, organized by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) - 2026, gathering delegates from Eurasian countries and OECD members.
According to the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic, Deputy Minister Mederbek Tumanov spoke at the plenary sessions, where critically important mineral resources for ensuring sustainable growth, as well as the development of the Trans-Caspian transport corridor and strengthening economic interconnectedness in the region were discussed.
In his speeches, Tumanov highlighted Kyrgyzstan's key initiatives in sustainable and green development, the implementation of responsible business practices, the digitalization of trade processes, and integration into regional and global value chains.
During the Eurasia Week, the Deputy Minister also held meetings with representatives of the OECD's Public Governance Directorate and with William Thompson, the head of the Eurasia Division. They discussed opportunities for expanding cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the OECD, including the implementation of joint projects in green development, the exchange of expert support, and aligning national reforms with OECD recommendations and best practices.
Additionally, issues related to the implementation of OECD standards in public governance, digital solutions, and the prospects for using artificial intelligence in this area were considered. The outcome of the meetings was an agreement to prepare a cooperation document and organize a workshop in Bishkek to exchange experiences and improve interaction between Kyrgyz government agencies and the OECD.
Participation in the OECD Eurasia Week - 2026 contributed to strengthening dialogue with partners, presenting the priorities of Kyrgyzstan's socio-economic development, and identifying potential areas for future cooperation with the OECD.
