The Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry urges citizens to strictly adhere to the norms of water legislation when using groundwater for drinking and technical purposes.

As reported by the press service of the ministry, the Land and Water Control Service reminds that it is necessary to obtain a license and a licensing agreement from the State Geological Service before drilling a well. A project development and an environmental expertise are also required. After the well is put into operation, the owners are obliged to keep track of the volume of extracted water using a special water measuring device and pay the "royalty" tax.

The royalty amount is 15 tyiyns per cubic meter of drinking water and 10 tyiyns for technical water.

The ministry clarified that for drilling wells up to 30 meters deep, intended for individual residential houses and using technical water, the issuance of permits is not required. However, if the water is used in the context of entrepreneurial activities, such as for baths, restaurants, or car washes, compliance with all regulations is mandatory.

Failure to comply with water legislation norms is subject to administrative penalties. Fines for individuals range from 1,000 to 20,000 soms, while for legal entities, they range from 13,000 to 65,000 soms. Additionally, penalties may be imposed for damages caused.
