Metallurgy remains the main driver of growth, accounting for 396.4 billion soms in the production of basic metals and finished metal products (excluding machinery and equipment). This constitutes 62.2% of the total volume of the manufacturing industry. Thus, nearly two-thirds of this sector continues to be shaped by the metalworking complex.
The food industry, including the production of beverages and tobacco products, ranks second in volume, with a total of 104.7 billion soms (16.4%). This data indicates stable domestic demand and relative resilience in the sector.
The following are the next most significant sectors:
- rubber and plastic products, as well as other non-metallic mineral products — 72.5 billion soms (11.4%);
- textile industry, including clothing, footwear, and leather goods — 25.1 billion soms (3.9%);
- refined petroleum products — 15.0 billion soms (2.4%).
The physical volume index of manufacturing industries at the end of the year was 109.8% compared to January-December 2024, indicating real growth in the volume of produced goods.
However, in December 2025, a decline in business activity was observed: the physical volume index was 112.8% compared to December 2024, which is lower than the figures of previous months and may be related to the high base effect or seasonal slowdown.
