In particular, the draft law introduces additional procedural guarantees concerning the handling of digital data, which affect the confidentiality of correspondence, personal data, and private life, as well as mechanisms for judicial oversight.
Furthermore, the draft law updates outdated terminology, aligning it with the Digital Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. It also provides legal mechanisms for dealing with virtual assets, which are increasingly becoming targets of criminal encroachments.
The Ministry of Justice noted that the adoption of this draft law will create a modern legal framework for combating cybercrime, establish clear rules for handling digital data, and ensure consistency in law enforcement practices.
