The Deputy Minister of Energy did not disclose information about the cost of imported electricity
Deputy Minister of Energy Altynbek Rysbekov responded that the deficit amounted to 3.8 billion kWh by the end of 2025.
He clarified that to eliminate the deficit, electricity is being imported from neighboring countries.
In response to further questions from the deputy about how the deficit will be covered in 2026, the deputy minister stated that contracts for imports are still being concluded, and national programs for the implementation of renewable energy sources are being carried out.
When the deputy requested information about the cost of 1 kWh of imported electricity, the deputy minister, citing state secrets, refused to provide an answer. Instead, he agreed to discuss this information directly with the deputy.
At the same time, the draft Law "On Amendments to the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic on Renewable Energy Sources" was also being considered for its second reading.
