The Dalai Lama received a Grammy award: China's Foreign Ministry expressed dissatisfaction

At the ceremony, the Dalai Lama expressed his gratitude: “I accept this award with a sense of humility. This is not only my award but also a recognition of our shared responsibility. I sincerely believe that compassion and care for the environment are essential for the well-being of all people on the planet. I am grateful for the opportunity to convey these ideas to a wide audience through the Grammy award.”
The award on behalf of the Dalai Lama was received by the famous singer and composer Rufus Wainwright, who participated in the recording of the album alongside artists such as Maggie Rogers and Andra Day.

At the same time, representatives of the Chinese government expressed dissatisfaction with the awarding of this honor. A spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Lin Jian, characterized the Dalai Lama as a “political exile” who uses religion to promote anti-Chinese ideas.

Lin Jian condemned the awarding of the prize, noting that “we firmly oppose such actions being used as a tool for political manipulation against China.”
