The Cabinet plans to build and launch an electric vehicle manufacturing plant in Sokuluk by September 30.
According to the ministry, the launch of the assembly and production plant for electric vehicles is scheduled for completion by September 30, 2026, with private investments being attracted.
The oversight of this project is entrusted to the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, the presidential representative in the Chui region, and the National Investment Agency.
In addition, the document stipulates that by December 30, certification of electric vehicles produced in the country will be conducted to obtain the necessary documentation from the manufacturing plants. The Ministry of Economy and Commerce, together with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, has been appointed responsible for this initiative. Funding for these activities will be provided from the republican budget.
Background
In 2024, Arslan Baziyev, head of the industrial policy department of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, mentioned on the radio about plans to launch a car factory in Sokuluk in 2025, where cars will be produced under the Kyrgyz brand.
According to Baziyev, the project is being implemented in collaboration with the Chinese company Jaecoo.
