- The Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) in the Kyrgyz Republic has published the draft report for 2024.

According to the document, information about the volumes of gold extraction by artisanal miners in Kyrgyzstan remains unavailable, as the gold reception offices that provide reports to the Department of Precious Metals under the Ministry of Finance of the KR record zero data.

In 2023, the number of artisanal miners increased to 23 (which is 70% more compared to 2022), and they contributed 18.1 thousand soms, which corresponds to the figures of 2022. In 2024, 35 patents were issued, under which 58.6 thousand soms were collected, exceeding previous results by 105%.

The document also indicates that indirect estimates show that in reality, many more citizens are involved in this activity than are officially recorded.
