Ulugbek Yereshayev, an expert in public administration, commented for IA "Kabar" on the decision to introduce state control over driver training. He emphasized that the need for reforms in this area has long been overdue. The quality of education has suffered from systemic corruption, and as a result, graduates did not acquire the necessary skills, which contributed to the increase in accidents and fatalities on the roads of Kyrgyzstan.
“Every driver is responsible for the safety of other road users. When licenses could be obtained without the necessary knowledge and skills, the situation became critical. The high level of accidents is directly related to this corruption,” the expert noted.
In Yereshayev's opinion, transferring driving schools under state supervision is an important and necessary measure. Driver training should be prolonged and thorough, so that they realize that the inability to operate a vehicle can lead to serious consequences and threats to life.
Control during driving tests for obtaining licenses should also be strict. Corruption in this area must be eradicated. Ulugbek Yereshayev believes that reforms in the driver training system will yield more positive results, as human lives depend on order on the roads,” he added in conclusion.
