Deputy Umbetaly Kydyraiev raised the issue of the number of diplomatic missions of Kyrgyzstan abroad.

In response, Deputy Foreign Minister Almaz Imangaziev stated that the country currently has 33 embassies, 10 consulates general, and 2 representations in international organizations.

The deputy also inquired how many of these buildings are owned by Kyrgyzstan and how many are rented.

According to Imangaziev, there are 14 buildings, 5 residences, and 31 apartments in state ownership. For example, the building in Belgium belongs to Kyrgyzstan, while in the United Kingdom, a rented space is used.

Kydyraiev noted that many buildings have been rented for a long time, leading to significant expenses.

“If these buildings had been acquired 15 years ago, the costs would have been significantly lower. The state should have property in key geostrategic countries, especially in those where a visa-free regime has been established,” the deputy added.

The deputy minister reported that starting this year, by the president's directive, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has begun the process of acquiring real estate abroad.

“In 2023, embassy buildings were acquired in Hungary and Paris, and in 2024, it is planned to buy four service apartments in Berlin and Seoul. Currently, negotiations are underway to purchase real estate in Vienna, and the acquisition of properties in London and Tokyo is planned for 2026,” he clarified.
