In the Jogorku Kenesh, the issue of "visarana" with Kazakhstan and separated families was raised.
At the parliamentary meeting, Deputy Dastan Bekeshev raised an important issue regarding the "visa run" regime between Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan, noting that it creates serious humanitarian problems.
He pointed out that there are families in the country where foreign citizens, who are family members, face difficulties trying to enter Kyrgyzstan due to existing migration restrictions. This results in spouses being separated, and children may remain outside the country.
In response, Deputy Foreign Minister Almaz Imangaziev stated that in 2023, Kazakhstan changed its migration legislation, introducing a "90 days within 180 days" stay regime.
According to him, this regime was agreed upon during negotiations between both sides and will be in effect until December 2025.
“From December 2025, Kazakhstan will continue to apply this regime. In this regard, the Kyrgyz side was forced to introduce similar measures for citizens of Kazakhstan,” the deputy minister added.
Imangaziev also acknowledged that there are individual cases where citizens, unaware of the new rules, are unable to enter the territory of Kyrgyzstan. Although the number of such cases is small, the humanitarian aspect of this issue remains on the authorities' radar.
“In the first half of 2026, we plan to address such situations. If citizens were unable to enter the country for humanitarian reasons, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will take the necessary measures to resolve these issues,” concluded Imangaziev.
