- On January 28, a national forum titled "Data and Security in the Age of Artificial Intelligence" is taking place in Bishkek, dedicated to International Data Protection Day.

At this event, Professor Lothar Determann, a representative of the Association of Professors of Public Law in Germany, raised relevant issues faced by businesses and government structures in the context of rapid technological progress and increasing threats of personal data leakage.

In his opinion, in today's realities, companies must find a compromise between adequate protection of personal data and the necessary conditions for access to it.

In different countries, access to personal information is regulated by numerous laws concerning data processing, storage, and security, as well as issues of national security and competitiveness.

Professor Determann also shared experiences from the United States, where many states allow citizens to authorize medical institutions to share their data during treatment.

Among his recommendations for businesses, he highlighted the need to create internal regulations on data security, implement processes for authorization and consent for data processing, and clearly define rights to personal data.

Determann also noted that in European Union countries, obtaining consent from clients for the processing of their personal data by companies is a mandatory requirement.

Members of the Association emphasize that each governmental system must protect its citizens and their personal data from external threats.
