Kyrgyzstan Aims to Enter the Top 30 Countries in Achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals
The SDGs encompass 17 key areas, including eradicating poverty and hunger, ensuring quality education, access to healthcare services, reducing inequality, environmental sustainability, and improving governance. Currently, Kyrgyzstan ranks around 45-47, approaching the group of countries with a high level of achievement of these goals.
Choro Seyitov noted: “We are making progress in all areas of the Sustainable Development Goals and perceive this task as long-term and comprehensive.” He clarified that the republic covers 16 out of 17 goals, excluding the area related to seas and oceans, which is explained by the country's continental position. A national tracker is used to monitor progress in implementing the SDGs, analyzing data on education, life expectancy, income levels, ecology, biodiversity, and the quality of governance.
According to Seyitov, achieving the set goals requires coordinated efforts from all ministries, agencies, and regions. The implementation of the national development program involves sequential actions to improve the human development index, reduce social and regional inequality, and ensure sustainable economic growth.
