In Bishkek, the resumption of direct flights to Tbilisi and strengthening ties with Georgia were discussed
Today in Bishkek, a meeting took place between Deputy Foreign Minister Mered Abakirov and the Ambassador of Georgia to the Kyrgyz Republic Levan Diasamidze, during which copies of the letters of credence were presented. The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported that Abakirov warmly congratulated the new ambassador on his appointment and expressed hope that his experience would help strengthen bilateral ties.
During the discussions on political cooperation, the parties noted the traditionally friendly nature of Kyrgyz-Georgian relations and emphasized the importance of enhancing dialogue at the highest levels of government. Special attention was given to the exchange of official visits and joint work in international organizations.
In the context of trade and economic cooperation, the meeting participants highlighted the significant potential for expanding interconnections, including the possibility of holding a meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission. Issues of inter-parliamentary interaction and cooperation in the field of democracy and parliamentary diplomacy were also discussed.
An important point of discussion was the resumption of direct air communication between Bishkek and Tbilisi, which could contribute to the development of trade, tourism, and cultural and humanitarian ties.
