- During the plenary session of the Jogorku Kenesh on January 22, 2026, Deputy Burun Amanova drew attention to the fact that there are more than 100 residential areas in Bishkek, whose residents are forced to heat their homes with coal.

She emphasized that this is one of the main reasons for the smog that often envelops the capital and urgently called for the acceleration of the gasification process.

According to her, out of more than a hundred residential areas, gasification has only affected 54, which worsens the overall ecological situation in the city.

“As is known, Gazprom has committed to fully gasify these areas, but so far they have only managed to complete work in half of them. Why is the gasification of the others still not finished?” Amanova asked.

Additionally, she noted that the Kadamjai district has not had access to gas supply for a considerable time.

Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu, in turn, noted that this year the air pollution situation in Bishkek has significantly improved compared to previous periods, which should be acknowledged.

“We should thank the city authorities for this,” he added.
