Wind, solar power plants, and small hydropower plants in Kazakhstan generated 8.6 billion kWh of electricity in 2025.

- In 2025, Kazakh wind, solar power plants, and small hydropower plants produced 8.6 billion kWh of electricity, according to information provided by the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan on January 20.

Compared to 2024, this figure increased by 13.7%, and the share of renewable energy sources in the overall energy balance of the country reached 7%.

In the electricity generation from renewable energy sources, the largest amount of energy was obtained from wind power plants — 5.4 billion kWh, solar power plants provided 2.0 billion kWh, and small hydropower plants contributed 1.2 billion kWh.

Note:

The production volume of 8.6 billion kWh corresponds to approximately 45% of the annual electricity consumption of the Kyrgyz Republic in 2025.
