Ministry of Energy: Electricity consumption is growing annually, with a deficit of 4.2–4.3 billion kWh.
In response, Deputy Minister of Energy Altynbek Rysbekov reported that the country generates 14.5 billion kWh of electricity per year. According to him, approximately 20 billion kWh is needed to meet the demands of the entire country, which creates a deficit in the range of 4.2-4.3 billion kWh.
Additionally, Rysbekov noted that Kyrgyzstan receives electricity from Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Russia. He also emphasized that electricity consumption in the country continues to grow each year.
At this moment, the draft Law "On Amendments to the Law on Renewable Energy Sources," which was under its first reading, was also discussed.
