The Bishkek City Hall is accepting proposals for the draft resolution on the development of new territories

According to the changes made, the area of the city has expanded from 12.9 thousand to 41 thousand hectares. In total, Bishkek has received 15,588.96 hectares of agricultural land, which are now part of the annexed territories. In addition, various social facilities have been transferred to municipal ownership, including 15 kindergartens, 18 schools, 11 libraries, 27 cultural and sports facilities, as well as 16 medical institutions.

However, despite the expansion, the new territories face a shortage of social facilities and underdeveloped engineering networks. Many schools, kindergartens, and cultural institutions require major repairs and modernization.

Among the additional problems, one can note the lack of a developed road network, low access to centralized water supply and sewage systems, as well as limited capabilities in the field of electricity supply.

To address the above-mentioned issues in stages, a Plan of Activities for the Development of the Annexed Territories for 2026–2030 has been developed. This plan is divided into four administrative districts and covers the construction and reconstruction of social facilities, improvement of road infrastructure, development of housing and communal services, and the fuel and energy complex.

Funding will be provided from the republican and local budgets, as well as from the own funds of municipal enterprises and off-budget sources, including international grants and partner assistance.

The implementation of this plan will ensure balanced development of the urban environment, improve the quality of life for the population, and integrate the new territories into the socio-economic structure of the city of Bishkek.

Proposals for the draft resolution can be sent to the email address: [email protected].
