The report also highlights the global increase in demand for electricity, driven by the growth of data centers for artificial intelligence and the rising use of electric vehicles. In particular, the Chinese sector for charging and battery replacement services saw a consumption increase of 48.8% compared to 2024, while the information and technology sector experienced a 17% rise.
These areas have become the main factors driving electricity consumption growth in the services sector. In response to these changes, the State Grid Corporation of China announced plans to increase investments in fixed assets by about 40% over the next five years to expand its energy infrastructure.
