The Grok Chatbot Will Be Added to the Pentagon Network

In his speech, the minister emphasized the importance of optimizing and accelerating technological processes in the army. According to him, the Pentagon has "battle-tested operational data collected over two decades of military operations." Hegset also noted that "artificial intelligence is effective only if the data it receives is of high quality. We will ensure its availability," he added.

"We must ensure the dominance of American military AI so that no adversary can use this technology to threaten our security or that of our citizens," Hegset said.

The Grok Scandal

These statements came just a few days after Grok found itself at the center of a new scandal related to the generation of unacceptable content. Malaysia and Indonesia blocked access to the chatbot, while regulators from the EU, UK, Brazil, and India began investigations into its involvement in the spread of deepfakes.

Analysts from the British organization Internet Watch Foundation discovered "criminal images" of children created using Grok. Previously, the chatbot had also faced criticism for spreading misinformation, as in the case of false data regarding a mass shooting on Bondi Beach in Australia.

"It seems like an old viral video," the AI stated in response to a question about the incident video, adding that it could not confirm its authenticity.

Additionally, users noted in July that Grok tends to align its responses to controversial topics, such as the conflict in Israel and Palestine, as well as abortion and immigration, with the opinions of Elon Musk. This raises suspicions that the AI has been tuned according to Musk's political views.

Musk previously stated that his startup plans to rewrite "all human knowledge" to train a new version of Grok, aiming to clean the data from "garbage." As a result, Grokipedia was created—an AI-based online encyclopedia focused on truth.

It is worth noting that in November, users pointed out the bias of Grok 4.1, as the new version significantly exaggerated Musk's capabilities, which also sparked discussion.
