“Within the framework of the EAEU, a common market for agricultural crop seeds is being developed, based on the acts of national authorities and international agreements of the Union,” added Goar Barsegyan, Minister for Industry and Agro-Industrial Complex of the EEC.
The aim of the report is to enhance the efficiency of the agro-industrial sector in EAEU countries and to further develop the areas of variety testing and seed production.
Participants also discussed the draft Report on the implementation of common principles of food security.
In addition, a draft Decision of the Commission's Collegium concerning amendments to the EEC regulatory legal acts on breeding livestock was reviewed. This document proposes to expand the list of selection traits for assessing the exterior of cows and clarifies measurement methods for determining the breeding value of dairy cattle.
The Committee approved the draft recommendation of the EEC Collegium on the introduction of digital technologies in the agro-industrial complex of EAEU countries, as well as supported the draft recommendation on strengthening trade and economic cooperation with BRICS countries.
