On March 13, in Moscow, the Council of the EEC discussed proposals to expand the list of goods for which permanent traceability will be implemented within the Eurasian Economic Union. This was reported at a press conference at the "Kabar" agency by Elimbek Kanybek uulu, head of the EAEU coordination department.
Kanybek uulu noted that the initial list of goods subject to traceability was developed as a result of a series of expert discussions held from March to September 2025 and was approved by the EEC Council's decision on January 26, 2026, number 5. It included items such as household refrigerators, freezers, washing machines, and television communication equipment.
Additionally, he mentioned that changes to the technical regulations of the Customs Union regarding conformity assessment for self-propelled machines and their trailers were discussed. Council members agreed to maintain the current form of conformity assessment for Kyrgyzstan in the form of declaration, which will be valid until 2040 for products intended exclusively for the domestic market of the country and not intended for other member states of the Union.
"The Council supported Kyrgyzstan's initiative to amend certain decisions of the Customs Union Commission, which propose the introduction of temporary tariff benefits exempting from the payment of import customs duties. These measures may apply to certain types of fruits and citrus, as well as cocoa powder and products based on it, intended for industrial processing, which is particularly relevant in the context of the lack of domestic production and dependence on imports," he added.
The implementation of the proposed measures aims to stabilize the domestic market and ensure the uninterrupted operation of food industry enterprises. It is expected that the updated list of such goods will be signed and published by the end of the month.
