Cryptocurrency exchanges required to increase capital to 300 million soms by July 2026

The President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, has signed a decree that introduces requirements for the minimum charter capital for cryptocurrency exchange operators.

According to this decree, starting from July 1, 2026, the minimum amount of charter capital for all cryptocurrency exchanges must be 300 million soms.

Existing market participants will need to adjust their capital in accordance with the new requirements by the specified deadline.

The document emphasizes that the created charter capital must be aimed at ensuring the liquidity of operations with virtual assets and comply with the legislation of Kyrgyzstan.

The Cabinet of Ministers has been tasked with taking the necessary measures to implement the decree within three months.

The decree will come into effect 10 days after its signing.
