- In Kyrgyzstan, to obtain the status of a breeding farm, a number of conditions must be met, including a minimum number of livestock and the conclusion of agreements with experts. This was stated in an interview with the radio by Myktybek Kalandarov, head of the department for the development of breeding livestock, feed, and the implementation of biotechnology in the Veterinary Service of the Ministry of Agriculture.

Kalandarov clarified that there are specific minimum requirements for the number of livestock for various types of animal husbandry. For example, in sheep farming, it is necessary to have at least 200 ewes, while cattle breeding requires a minimum of 30 cows.

It is important to note that all animals in a breeding farm must belong to the same breed. Kalandarov emphasized that mixing different breeds within one farm is not allowed.

Furthermore, the farm must be registered with the Ministry of Justice, have a unique name, and also have a charter and regulations that clearly specify the activity related to breeding a specific breed.

Each animal on the farm must have a veterinary passport and supporting documents regarding its origin.

Kalandarov also noted that these requirements are aimed at implementing a preferential lending program for farmers. In Kyrgyzstan, there is a program offering loans at 3% per annum for the purchase of breeding livestock.
