Income from ecotourism in reserves reached 37.7 million soms
In 2025, the country's protected areas attracted over 271 thousand visitors
According to the results of 2025, the protected areas of Kyrgyzstan demonstrated record results in finance and management. Official data indicates that income from ecotourism reached 37.7 million soms, which is more than double the figures from the previous year, ensuring a growth of 19.3 million soms.
Throughout the year, 271,254 people visited the state nature reserves and parks of the country, indicating a nearly 24% increase in interest in ecological tourism.
Domestic tourism remains the primary source of visitors, as over 250.5 thousand citizens of Kyrgyzstan visited natural areas. There is also a steady interest from tourists from CIS countries and other regions.
Experts note that the significant growth in income, with a relatively minor increase in the number of tourists, is linked to the optimization of tariffs and improved management of revenue collection.
Along with the development of ecotourism, control over the enforcement of environmental legislation has increased. Over the year, 139 violations were recorded, with total damage amounting to 1.1 million soms. The majority of violations, about 70%, are related to illegal impacts on flora.
According to the agency's data, to date, damage has been compensated to the budget in 78 cases, while the remaining cases are in the stage of judicial and administrative proceedings.
