The Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic intends to intensify efforts to create a more comfortable environment for investors, both local and foreign. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce Choro Seyitov at a press conference.
Seyitov noted that the government is working on addressing the main issues faced by entrepreneurs, including access to land plots, infrastructure development, and the provision of tax incentives.
Among the significant results of working with the regions is the assignment of special industrial zones to each district. “Previously, many entrepreneurs faced difficulties in finding land for their projects. Now, industrial zones have been created in every district. For example, large areas have been allocated in the Chui region and the city of Tokmok. Similar measures have been taken in Ala-Buka, Osh, and Kara-Suu. Now everyone has ready plots for work,” he added.
The deputy minister emphasized that the state is committed to providing the necessary communications for these zones, including electricity, gas (where possible), roads, water supply, and sewage.
Additionally, Choro Seyitov characterized Kyrgyzstan's tax policy as highly adaptive and flexible. A working group has currently been established to make amendments to the Tax Code.
The ministry is also actively working on simplifying administrative processes and reducing bureaucracy. The main goal is to minimize regulatory pressure on businesses and streamline the interaction between the private sector and government institutions.
The official also reported on the preparation of a draft Program for the Development of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises for the period up to 2030.
"We plan to continue an active policy of supporting small and medium-sized businesses. This year, about 1.5 billion soms will be allocated for these purposes. For comparison, last year the amount was 300 million soms," Seyitov noted.
