The government will not allow a shortage of fuel and lubricants and a sharp rise in food prices – MEC

During a briefing held by the Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce, Choro Seyitov, it was announced that the government of the Kyrgyz Republic has developed a comprehensive set of measures aimed at maintaining price stability for essential goods and services.

Seyitov noted that the state strategy is focused on preventing sharp price fluctuations and is based on a combination of economic and administrative tools.

According to him, the government continues to implement direct agreements with local producers to establish prices for essential goods. Work is actively underway to create sustainable sources of raw materials and food, which will help avoid supply disruptions.

Particular attention is being paid to the market for fuel and lubricants. The Deputy Minister emphasized that the volumes of supply and the cost of fuel are under constant control.

"The Ministry of Economy, the Antimonopoly Regulation Service, and the Ministry of Energy are monitoring prices and stocks of fuel and lubricants. The situation is under the personal control of the Cabinet of Ministers. We will not allow a fuel shortage," Seyitov noted.

Additionally, he added that to support the agricultural sector ahead of the spring fieldwork, fixed prices for fuel and lubricants have already been established, allowing farmers to conduct the sowing campaign on time without additional costs.
