The National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic has extended the validity of its permission for commercial banks to export non-worn cash foreign currency, including US dollars, until October 1, 2026. This decision was made last year and has now been continued.

In July 2025, a temporary permit was introduced for the export of cash foreign currency to improve the management of cash and currency operations. This regulation allowed banks to export US dollars for exchange or to carry out operations through international financial organizations.

Additionally, in February 2026, the National Bank extended the permission for the export of worn dollar banknotes and bills issued before 2006 until September 1, 2026.
