The payments cover both external and internal debt

At the beginning of 2026, the Kyrgyz Republic made payments on its state debt amounting to approximately 126.9 million dollars, according to information from the Ministry of Finance.

By the end of 2025, Kyrgyzstan's state debt reached nearly 9 billion dollars (about 780 billion soms), which is associated with the active attraction of external loans. Approximately 60% of the debt is external, with the Export-Import Bank of China being a notable creditor, to which the republic owes about 1.5 billion dollars. The debt-to-GDP ratio is around 42-43%.
