Kyrgyzstan Proposes to Reintroduce a 5% Import Duty on LED Lamps in the EAEU

- Currently, there is a project in the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) concerning the establishment of an import customs duty on LED screens and lamps within the EAEU, as reported in the official data of the EEC.

This proposal was put forward by the Kyrgyz Republic. The discussion of the EEC draft decision will continue until March 23, 2026.

According to the submitted document, it is proposed to establish an import customs duty of 5% of the customs value in accordance with the Unified Customs Tariff of the EAEU, approved by the EEC Council on September 14, 2021.

The proposed rate will be in effect until December 31, 2030.

Starting from 2022, a zero rate of import customs duties has been in effect for certain types of LED lamps within the EAEU, introduced by the EEC to support energy-efficient lighting.
