Expert: One meat cluster will be able to cover about 1% of market demand
As part of this project, approximately 150 million soms will be allocated for one cluster association. Of this amount, about 82 million soms will be directed towards the purchase of livestock, while the remaining 68 million soms will be distributed among participants: the fattening company, suppliers, and those who sell the products.
According to Mamytkanov's estimates, this amount will be sufficient to purchase and fatten 400–450 head of cattle. "In Bishkek, about 300–400 bulls are slaughtered daily. Based on this, the amount of meat that one cluster can provide will be approximately 1% of total consumption, as fattening 450 head will take about 6 months," the expert clarified.
Mamytkanov also noted that if 10 such clusters are created, the total number of livestock will be around 4,500 head, which will supply the market with beef for about 100 days at the current consumption level.
The launch of the project represents a significant initiative for the entire industry, as it is a pilot project that could be expanded in the future. The expert emphasized that if funding for such programs is provided on a regular basis, for example, at a rate of 1.5 billion soms annually, the mechanism could be significantly scaled up over several years.
He also highlighted the need for further development of the pilot project so that it is not halted at the initial stage.
