In the Jogorku Kenesh, the launch of a pilot project for fattening cattle within the framework of meat cluster development was discussed.
Deputy Dastanbek Jumabekov asked why only these regions were chosen for the initiative, expressing curiosity about why the project does not cover the entire country.
Deputy Minister of Agriculture Mirbek Duyshiev explained that the project is a pilot, and if it is successfully implemented, it is planned to be expanded to other regions of Kyrgyzstan.
He noted that Bishkek and the Chui region are experiencing the most serious problems with high meat prices, so the main task is to stabilize the local market.
According to Mirbek Duyshiev, about 1.5 billion soms are allocated for the development of the meat cluster as a whole, with a preferential interest rate of 3% per annum. Financing will be provided through state banks.
The goal of the project is to increase the supply of meat, lower prices, and support farmers through accessible financial instruments.
