The Minister of Agriculture inspected the preparations for the sowing season in the Suzak district
Erlis Akunbekov, who holds the position of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan, visited the Jalal-Abad region, where he held a working meeting in the administration of the Suzak district. The main focus of the discussion was on improving the agricultural sector and addressing the current issues faced by local farmers.

During the meeting, special attention was given to irrigation problems. Participants noted that the Suzak district is experiencing serious difficulties due to a lack of water-saving infrastructure, including the absence of decadal and daily regulation basins (BDR and BSR). The Minister emphasized that the effective use of water resources and the development of necessary infrastructure are key tasks for ensuring food security in the region.

As part of the discussion on preparations for spring work, specific data on the district's readiness was presented. Currently, the level of seed provision for local agrarians for cereal crops stands at 85%. In terms of technical equipment, farmers in the Suzak district have a significant set of machinery, including 3,393 tractors and 137 combines.

The topic of mineral fertilizers was also raised. It is estimated that the entire Jalal-Abad region will require 24,000 tons of fertilizers in 2026, of which 6,200 tons are specifically needed for the Suzak district.

At the end of the meeting, Erlis Akunbekov answered questions from local residents, emphasizing that the successful development of agriculture is impossible without effective interaction between government authorities, specialists, and the producers themselves.
