U.S. President Donald Trump announced a partial lifting of sanctions on the oil industry of several countries, aimed at stabilizing energy resource prices.

“We have decided to ease some restrictions on oil to help lower prices. We have sanctions against a number of states, and we plan to suspend them until the situation improves,” Trump noted.

However, the president did not specify which countries these changes would apply to.

At the same time, it is worth noting that the price of Brent crude oil in morning trading yesterday was $119.36 per barrel, which is 28.77 percent higher compared to previous figures. Additionally, the price of gas on European exchanges on March 9 exceeded $800 per 1,000 cubic meters for the first time since the beginning of 2023.

Earlier, reports emerged about Israel's attacks on several oil storage facilities in Iran. Also, the Bahrain national oil and gas company Bapco Energies declared a state of force majeure due to the escalation of the situation in the region and a recent strike on one of its oil refineries.

After Iran's retaliatory actions, Qatar suspended liquefied natural gas production at its largest plant in the world. QatarEnergy halted LNG production following attacks on industrial facilities in Ras Laffan and Mesaieed, which affected operational production capacities. QatarEnergy is the world's largest LNG producer, accounting for nearly 20 percent of global output.
