In Kyrgyzstan, seed farms and nurseries will be able to take advantage of preferential loans with an interest rate of 3% per annum, as announced by the director of the Department for the Expertise of Agricultural Crops and Horticulture of the Ministry of Agriculture, Bakyt Mambetov, during a radio broadcast.

Loan funds will be available only to those farms and nurseries that have officially received status in accordance with the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers. Currently, there are 86 seed-growing farms and 14 nurseries registered in the country with such status.

The nurseries will be able to use the loans to purchase planting material and rootstocks from foreign laboratories, as well as to establish their own base of mother plants.

Additionally, funding can be directed towards the purchase of specialized agricultural machinery, including seeders, seed cleaning machines, diggers, seed treatment equipment, and fertilizer spreaders.

This program was first launched in the summer of 2025, when 100 million soms were allocated for its implementation. As a result, about eight farms were able to receive preferential loans.

For 2026, 100 million soms are also planned to be allocated for this program, and funding will begin in the coming weeks. Loans will be issued for a period of three years, with the first year being interest-free. Unsecured financing is available up to 300,000 soms, while amounts exceeding this threshold will require collateral.
