The International Business Council (IBC) emphasizes the need for reliable protection of property rights in Kyrgyzstan, pointing out that the criminal prosecution of entrepreneurs is one of the factors contributing to investment uncertainty in the country. These conclusions were voiced in the latest analytical report by the IBC.

According to the National Statistical Committee, the gross domestic product of Kyrgyzstan from January to December 2025 amounted to 1 trillion 976.4 billion soms, which is 11.1 percent higher than in the same period of 2024.

The IBC highlights that international financial organizations believe that a quality institutional environment is critically important for sustainable economic growth. Key aspects here include the protection of property rights, stability of law enforcement practices, and predictability of regulation.

Although investments show a positive trend, their level remains modest compared to other Central Asian countries. Foreign direct investment in Kyrgyzstan accounts for about 4-5 percent of the gross domestic product. Experts are confident that there is potential for further improvement of the investment climate.

Analysis shows that cases of criminal prosecution of entrepreneurs can exacerbate legal uncertainty and influence investment decisions. In conditions of insufficient predictability of law enforcement, this can lead to tension in the relationship between business and the state, according to IBC experts.

In this regard, the importance of ensuring reliable protection of property rights and predictability of regulation is emphasized, as these aspects directly affect investment decisions and long-term business planning.
