“Farmers need to implement crop rotation. We are not insisting on a five-field system, but at least a three- or four-field system should be used,” he noted.
Mambetov explained that it is important to alternate agricultural crops. For example, after cereals, corn can be sown, then sugar beet, and then perennials, to allow the soil to recover.
He also emphasized the significance of winter plowing.
“When winter plowing is carried out, moisture accumulates in the soil, and it becomes saturated with oxygen. If only spring plowing is done, the accumulated moisture quickly evaporates, and farmers have to wait for rain after sowing,” he added.
Mambetov noted that this is especially relevant for cereal crops.
In addition, he stated that the use of modern agritech is key to increasing yields.
“Even if a farmer has certified seeds, without the application of proper agritech, he will not be able to achieve the expected yield,” he emphasized.
According to Mambetov, the ministry is interested in ensuring that farmers receive quality and high yields.
