The MDS named the criminal prosecution of entrepreneurs as a factor of investment uncertainty.
Based on data from the National Statistical Committee, the gross domestic product of Kyrgyzstan from January to December 2025 amounted to 1 trillion 976.4 billion soms, which is 11.1% higher compared to the same period of the previous year.
International financial organizations also emphasize that the stability of economic growth largely depends on the quality of the institutional environment. This includes the protection of property rights, predictability of regulatory policy, and stability of law enforcement practices.
Despite the positive trend in investments, their volume remains relatively moderate compared to other countries in the region. Foreign direct investment accounts for about 4–5% of GDP, indicating opportunities for improving the investment climate, according to expert assessments.
The IBC noted that the analysis of law enforcement practices shows: cases of criminal prosecution of entrepreneurs can intensify the sense of legal uncertainty, which in turn affects investment decisions.
