Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry Erlis Akunbekov conducted a working trip to the southern regions, where he got acquainted with the operations of the "Dostuk" pumping station located in the village of Ken-Sai, in the Burgondu-Dostuk rural municipality of the Nooken district in the Jalal-Abad region.

During this trip, the issue of preparation for spring fieldwork was also raised.

The "Dostuk" pumping station, commissioned in 1970, consists of two sections and is equipped with six pumping units. Each of them has a capacity of 1600 kW, totaling 9600 kW. The station draws water from the Naryn River (Left Bank Naryn Canal) and provides a flow rate of 1.6 m³/s, allowing for the irrigation of 1628 hectares of agricultural land.

In the first section, out of three units, currently two are operational, and one is on standby. The length of the machine channel to the state border is 10.2 km.

To commission the second section, more than 53 million 581 thousand soms are needed. These funds are intended for the installation of pumping units, modernization of electrical equipment, commissioning works, and payment for electricity.

The Ministry of Agriculture emphasizes that the current capacities of the first section are used to meet internal needs for irrigation water, making the launch of the second section extremely important for increasing water supply.

Following the trip, Akunbekov instructed the responsible services to improve the technical condition of the pumping station, consider the possibility of launching the second section, and ensure a stable supply of irrigation water during the spring fieldwork period.
