The 2026 Agricultural Census Will Provide a Real Picture of the Agricultural Sector, - National Statistics Committee
Orozbaev noted that it has been 22–23 years since the last census. It was conducted in 2002–2003 in two stages: first focusing on crop production, then on livestock. Since then, significant changes have occurred in this field, he added.
According to the specialist, the existing official data often do not reflect the current situation in agriculture. “Some lands that are documented as arable land have long been occupied by perennial crops. Conversely, areas with perennial crops may have been uprooted and used for plowing. Many territories are already occupied for residential construction,” he explained.
Furthermore, Orozbaev emphasized that modern agricultural producers are actively using new technologies. “Farmers are using modern equipment, new fertilizers and chemicals, and also have their own warehouses for storing their products and chemicals. Only this census can provide a real picture for the further development of the agricultural sector and attracting investments,” he concluded.
