What barriers do businesswomen face in Kyrgyzstan, as reported by the Guarantee Fund

In Kyrgyzstan, women entrepreneurs face serious problems in the area of lending, one of which is insufficient collateral. This was stated by Reina Kurmankozhoeva, Deputy Chair of the Board of the Open Joint Stock Company "Guarantee Fund," during the opening of the event Ring the Bell for Gender Equality.

According to her, many women have less property registered in their name, have limited access to finance, and often encounter low levels of financial literacy when dealing with financial institutions. "Our goal is to ensure that the lack of collateral or resources does not become a barrier for women entrepreneurs," she added.

It should be noted that the Open Joint Stock Company "Guarantee Fund" was established by the government of Kyrgyzstan in 2016 to facilitate entrepreneurs' access to financing through the provision of credit guarantees. The founders of the fund are the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic and the National Bank, which ensures its institutional stability and strategic focus.
