“In particular, this concerns goods intended for the leather and footwear industry, as well as for the treatment of textiles, leather, fur, and other materials. Import duties on these products will be abolished or tariff preferences will be granted for three years. A decision on part of this nomenclature had already been made by the Board earlier,” noted EEC Minister for Trade Andrey Slepnev.
Additionally, another decision by the EEC Council established tariff preferences for the following goods until May 15 of the current year:
- for apricots, imported in quantities not exceeding 600 tons to Belarus and not exceeding 3,000 tons to Kazakhstan;
- for cherries, imported in volumes not exceeding 500 tons to Kazakhstan and not exceeding 2,000 tons to Russia;
- for sweet cherries, imported in quantities not exceeding 600 tons to Belarus, not exceeding 1,500 tons to Kazakhstan, and not exceeding 25,000 tons to Russia;
- for plums, imported in volumes not exceeding 700 tons to Belarus, not exceeding 1,500 tons to Kazakhstan, and not exceeding 23,000 tons to Russia.
Import duties on certain types of fabrics used for the production of carpets and carpet products will also be abolished for two years. All decisions made will come into effect ten calendar days after their official publication.
