Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, and Kazakhstan Received a Duty-Free Import Benefit for Raw Sugar
This measure will be in effect until the end of 2026, allowing the import of no more than 20,000 tons to Armenia, 100,000 tons to Kazakhstan, and 20,000 tons to Kyrgyzstan.
Andrey Slepnev, Minister for Trade of the EEC, noted that this decision aims to ensure a stable supply of sugar and sugar-containing products to the domestic markets of Armenia, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan at competitive prices. It will also help avoid shortages and preserve jobs in sugar processing enterprises.
Additionally, he added that white sugar obtained from processed raw cane sugar imported under the tariff exemption will not be allowed for export to other countries of the Eurasian Economic Union.
