Revenue from "Kumtor" over 4 years exceeded the figures of the previous 27 years, - president
He noted that the issue of "Kumtor" has long been a subject of public disputes and discussions. In his opinion, this strategically important facility holds significant value for the state, and its return under the control of the authorities was a fundamental moment in his political career.
The President also reminded that in 2021, "Kumtor" was fully returned to the ownership of the Kyrgyz Republic.
According to information presented by the head of state, from 2021 to 2025, the total income from mining at "Kumtor" will amount to 5 billion 115 million dollars, which is equivalent to over 440 billion soms. The country's budget will receive 1 billion 176 million dollars in the form of taxes and mandatory payments, or over 100 billion soms.
Additionally, over four years, the state will receive 441 million dollars, which amounts to more than 38 billion soms in dividends. For comparison, the president emphasized that from 1994 to 2021, Kyrgyzstan received only 100 million dollars in dividends from this project.
According to Japarov, the enterprise has now become a stable source of income for the budget, and the funds received are directed towards financing social programs and developing infrastructure projects.
