On February 27, 2026, at a republican meeting, President Sadyr Japarov announced a systemic state policy aimed at activating the industrial sector.

The head of state noted that the annual commissioning of 100 new industrial facilities has become a sustainable practice.

He also emphasized that over the past five years, new enterprises have been opened in the light, heavy, and processing industries, contributing to the creation of additional jobs, an increase in tax revenues, and economic growth.

In particular, Japarov highlighted the importance of agriculture, stressing that Kyrgyzstan continues to be an agrarian country, where a significant portion of the population is engaged in the agri-sector.

"Agriculture is the destiny of millions of people, as 60% of the citizens of the republic are connected to this sector. Caring for the agri-sector is caring for the population of the country," he noted.

The president also reported that over the past five years, support for agriculture has become one of the priority areas of state policy, yielding tangible results. The volume of agricultural production amounted to 2 trillion soms.

According to him, Kyrgyzstan has already begun to independently provide itself with six out of nine essential food products that were previously imported.

"We have plans to ensure our self-sufficiency with other food products in the future," the president added.

Furthermore, Japarov noted that the country exports about 60 types of agricultural products to 80 countries around the world. He emphasized that such results have been made possible through the joint efforts of cooperatives, the state, processing and industrial enterprises, as well as farmers.
